Izvleček: | While industry of pulp and paper is among the biggest water consumer, the generated wastewater must be properly treated before their discharge into rivers and public sewers. The quality of wastewater could be improved using coagulation: colloidal particles in wastewater form flocs, which are allowed to settle to the bottom of the tank after stirring. The coagulation is simulated in laboratory by Jar-test. The effectiveness of different coagulantswas measured based on reduction of pollution parameters. Coagulation/flocculation system can be used as filtration pre-treatment or as chemical treatment process. In this research we have tested several coagulantsand flocculants in order to reduce COD, turbidity, suspended solids, color, pH and conductivity. The research has shown that in the wastewater from pulp and paper industry optimum amount of coagulant poly aluminum chloride PAC is 540 mg/L in combination with polymer Organopol WPB40 at 3 mg/L. |
