520 | |a At the end of the 20th century many political and economic changes have happened in Europe, which led to decline of industry and many factories closed their doors or they survived with a minimum volume of work. Today these industrial areas present degraded areas, because the industry cause many negative impact in environment. Industrial areas have increased the concentration of air pollutants, particularly S02 and NOx, dust and also the noise has increased. In industrial areas changes in water balance happened because of impervious surface. Water from this surface drain and evaporates quickly and has negative impact on groundwater. Soil in the industrial areas has often elevated concentrations of cadmium, lead and zine. These negative changes reduce the ecosystem functions of industrial areas and this leads to the decrease in selfcleaning ability of the environment. It is believed that in the 21th century, for the maintenance of ecosystem stability also the degraded industrial areas are important. Because it is possible to expose them again or improve the functioning of ecosystems, so that they can recover its ecosystem function. Degraded industrial ecosystems can be enhanced by ecoremediations. These are the natural system approaches to maintain and enhance ecosystem functions. In this paper we will present the potential revitalization of industrial ecosystems through various types of ecoremediation on the specific case of industrial area Tezno in Maribor, where one of the largest car factory in south-east Europe operated, it was called TAM. Now there is the largest logistics center in Slovenia, where high-tech industry is developed, which aim is also to increase the stability of ecosystem functioning in the area and the harmony of nature. This co-existence can be achieved with ecoremediations. | ||
