Opis
Izvleček:The transition from command economy to modern market economy is one of the main challenges facing Eastern Europe economies in 1990s. Several years of reforms in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe have already provided some empirical merits of various adopted regimes and policy options. The transition process usually involves implementation of all or parts of following reforms: - macroeconomic stabilization; - price liberalization and legalizing non-state (i. e., private) enterprises; - external liberalization; it removes trade and investment barriers and rationalizes the exchange rate regime; - transformation of the system of property rights; it leads to privatization of state - owned enterprises and new institutional arrangements supporting private ownership. Remarkable progress has been made in the transition throughout the region from the reliance on command economy principle to reliance on the market mechanism. This transition has been implemented in education process as well. Our paper reviews recent changes on education of macroeconomics in a small open transition economy. Macroeconomic literacy is important because economic issues facing governments and individuals shape the future of the nation and affect the well being of its citizens. For these reasons it is essential that macroeconomic textbooks and methods bring clear delineation between administrative logic of economic performance and market goals and instruments.
