Izvleček: | The aim of this paper is to present the ▫$\alpha$▫ - metrics and its application in predicting the risk threshold and the employment of ▫$\alpha$▫ as a fault predictive metric used to foresee dangerous software modules. Some weakness of traditional software complexity metrics are enumerated first. Next a physical background of ▫$\alpha$▫ - metric is presented, the ▫$\alpha$▫ - metric is introduced together with some recent results of its use. A study based on the analysis of 162 programming modules concerned with the relation ▫$\alpha$▫ - metric <-> software faults is presented in the last part of the paper. This study shows that ▫$\alpha$▫ - values and faults are significantly correlated but the predictive power using a known model is not yet successful enough. |
