Opis
Izvleček:Information society is a part and essential characteristic of the modern i.e. innovative society. For it, capital in the form of funds is very important. However, capital in the form of know-how, skills as well as creativity and innovation friendly values are even more cruical. In the advanced market society of the West they are very well aware of the importance of knowledge and skills of their employees in organizations of all kinds. This fact is demonstrated by the data that in USA about $250 bilion a year are devoted to additional training of employees. Large organizations in the modern world devote special attention to training of their employees and to their business results. This certainly entails considerable expenses to the organozation, but they consider this investment to have a high ROI. On the other hand, in the transitional countries which are trying to catch up with the West and to overcome their lagging behind the West in their economic development, many organizations do not seem to understand this calculus. Slovenia belongs to these countries, too. Hence, we find this problem worth a closer research. We will try to clarify it on the case of training of employees in information systems departments.
