Gaia:The author examines advertisements in various types of Slovene media (newspapers, TV, the Internet) and compares them to American ones in order to identify common features of globalization. The emphasis is on lexical items, however, other aspects (creative spelling, possible changes in Slovene linguistic patterns, discourse structure, pragmatics, intercultural influences) are also explored. The role of advertisements in introducing I English-based neologisms into Slovene and their possible impact on language change in general are assessed.
Autorica istražuje reklame u različitim slovenskim medijima (novine, TV, internet) i uspoređuje ih s američkim kako bi identificirala zajedničke karakteristike globalizacije. Naglasak je na leksičkim jedinicama, no i drugi su vidovi uključeni (kao npr. kreativni spelling, moguće promjene u slovenskom jezičnom obrascu, struktura diskursa, pragmatika, međukulturni utjecaji). Autorica ukazuje na ulogu reklama u uvođenju neologizma u slovenski jezik prema engleskom obrascu i njihovu mogućem utjecaju na jezičnu promjenu.
